BINGO

I FOUND WHAT I WANNA DO IN LIFE.

I was surfing yahoo as usual and clicked on '6 Unusual High-Paying Careers'. this is what I'd love to do:

Fashion Consultant/Personal Shopper

Among those who care about their appearance, many are born with amazing taste; some have to work for it. Fashion designers and consultants help those who can afford personal attention to transform their image. You can be the one to consult on hair, makeup, and fashion--and then be the one to take your clients shopping. Get career training through an associate's or bachelor's degree program in fashion design. Top earners in the fashion design trades in 2007 took home $121,640 on average.

HOW.
COOL.

but I can't really, since i'm doing a degree in communication. haha. but getting paid to shop! getting a high pay for being a shopaholic; being paid well for having a disorder (you have to go out with me to understand that it is classified under 'disorder' in my case'). won't that be just fierce? yes I used the word fierce, ala Christian Siriano.

but then i'd probably have to deal with sickening, snooty rich people. :( whom I actually hate a lot.

but who cares I'M BEING PAID TO SHOP.

1912

Ever since the 1997 release of Titanic, I think i've watched the show like eight thousand times. and i've cried my eyes out eight thousand times.

Titanic was showing on Star Movies just now and it was the first time in years since i've watched it. and yes, I cried my eyes out. To those who have never watched the highest grossing film of all time, what's wrong with you?! you know who you are!

what a sad story. about 1500 people on the ship that 'God himself couldn't sink' died on that fateful night on 14 April 1912. ugh. I dont wanna think about it, it's really depressing.

I NEED TO WATCH FRIENDS NOW!

Happy Boxing Day!

I did something crazy today.

my sister wanted me to follow her to the hairdresser's and asked me to do something to my hair cos she doesnt wanna sit there alone. so, I did this:

turned myself into a Japanese anime character. haiya!

=D I like it a lot. probably the wildest/most daring thing i've done to my hair. which would mean that my mom'd wanna kill me. she hasn't seen it yet. haha yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaah. I kinda scared myself in the bright sunshine today. cos bright purple on close to jet-black hair makes me look (like my sister says) poisonous.

I'm afraid after the purple fades i'm gonna look like a monster. cos she bleached my highlights. we'll see how it goes. but at the moment i'm psyched. I told you I should live in Japan, where people do weird things to their appearances.

you know what is freakier than my hair though? the fact that 2009 will be in a mere 6 days' time.

wow.

I am a big The Killers fan and I have dancing (or jumping around) to this song in my room for the past few days.

my favourite part.

Miranda Kerr and Alessandra Ambrosio ftw, ftw, ftwwwwwwwwwwww.

10 Days

Just like that, i'm back.

=(

I started to miss Japan even before I left.

I can so see myself living there - The people there put so much effort into dressing up. Just as well, i'm vain as hell and i love to dress up. at least when i wore my boots there no one stared. but then again i learnt a while ago not to care here in singapore any more. =D oh but of course to school i'll dress like a 'normal person', like what my sister calls it.

the fashion there is amazing. 95% of people wear boots there. i felt like i was in my element cos i have this love affair with boots. oh and big curly hair. i have been inspired to not care about what people think about what i wear cos fashion is so subjective. having said that, i will try not critize people's dressing again (operative word being 'try').

I think people in singapore should improve their self-image - going to town in tshirts, shorts and slippers is plain embarrassing. but then again maybe people living in colder areas have more options; and people here are just too lazy to be creative.

and the food. do you know how much i ate? there was one night where i ate 5 plates of beef. there were 2 pieces and each and i could still eat after the 5th plate. but i was pushing it. haha.

but you know what is the single most awesome tasting thing EVER?

kobe beef.

when i bit into it i thought i died and went to heaven. nothing i say here is going to do justice to it.

but i think the best part of the trip was that it snowed. every singaporean's dream come true. and not like for just 1 day like that time i went to Cananda, but it snowed for days and the feeling is crazy. so surreal. the white blankets of snow on fields and roads tied in with the very elaborate christmas decorations. the perfact white christmas. the trees were like those you saw in christmas postcards.

it was as if someone up there was holding a giant sift and shaking icing sugar all over the land. we got to snow mobile up a mountain and though my fingers and toes were numb from the frigid air, it was the most incredible feeling looking across white mountain ranges.

oh yes. and of course we, being a 150% singaporean, made it a point to buy Burberry Blue Label. the fact that it's sold ONLY in Japan won my mom and my sister over. my mom got one, my sister got 3 (yes) and my mom got me one for my birthday. =D i love my mommy. it's about 400-500 SGD each. so yeah we spent a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY this trip it's not even funny.

there is so much to say about Hokkaido/Tokyo. i dont think i can ever capture the essence, try as i may. so i will post pictures up soon. =)

a timer! how exciting to see the seconds ticking away.

sigh packing is such a hassle; especially if you leave it to the last minute like me. I really DON'T want to forget to bring something.
