Wonderful melancholy

I am so very hooked on Travis' Closer. i think the last 2 days have seen me replaying the song about 84765739067 times.

so i took a day off from school today (insert Jeremy grumbling 'please lah, you do it all the time' here) as i was down with fever and a bad-ass sore throat. was at my sister's place all day vegetating in front of the tv.

she has the movie channels.

anyway, 'Elizabethtown' was on HBO in the morning and it reminded me that i used to love this show so much. and today i realised i still do. haha. i love movies that make you cry and feel all warm and fuzzy inside at the end. 'Elizabethtown' is based on a true story and that certainly made it more endearing.

one particular line from the show that stuck was the one Kirsten Dunst said to Orlando Bloom: Sadness is always easier because it's surrender.

and you know what. that cannot be more true. often we wallow in self-pity and feel depress because we WANT to. it's just easier when you give in. feeling sad for too long makes it a wasted emotion.

everyone should watch the show. it's beautiful.
